Diary Entry 35
I have just uploaded my magazine advert which I completed through using Adobe Photoshop. I used the ideas from my brief plan of my magazine advert which I skanned into the computer, and developed my ideas further, especially when considering the colour scheme.

Diary Entry 34
I have just uploaded my powerpoint presentation of the previous student's A2 coursework. I have analysed their magazine advert and their digi paks. I also watched their music video previous to this so that I knew the type of music genre they were doing and how their coursework related to the final product.
Diary Entry 33
I have just uploaded my Magazine Advert plan. It is a rough image of how I want to layout the contents that will be included within my advert. I have included the essentials, however I may add other elements if I feel they are needed. Overall, my final advert will look much more professional.
Above is my sketch of my basic plan for my Magazine Advert. I didn't want to go into extreme details because I wanted to put most of my time and effort into the real thing. However I have included the main conventions that create a successful magazine ad.
The Masthead displays the band name which I needed to include to inform the audience of who the magazine advert is promoting. This will need to stand out against the rest of the advert therefore it will need to be in block, bold letters and colour. Also, to the left of the advert I have revealed the single which will be found on the album too, "Pump Up the Jam". This will appeal to the audience because this single was a hit and therefore is well known. Below this I will be adding in the rest of the track list found on the album which will inform the audience that there will be a variety of songs by the same band. In the bottom right corner is an image of my completed digi pak. This will capture the eye of the reader and inform them of what the album looks like, therefore it will encourage them to buy it when they are out and see it in shops. To the left bottom corner is a weblink for the bands website, which informs the reader of where they can purchase the album from and find out more information. Along with this is some text which states the bands production labels. Finally, the main image on this advert is the same as the digi pak cover which will allow the reader to remember this more vividly. I will try to make elements of this image stand out as much as possible and make it look slightly abstract so that it attracts the audience and makes it look unique.
Diary Entry 32
Today I planned out how i wanted my digi pak to look. I drew out my plan and scanned my image into my blog. As it is my first draft it will eventually look much more professional than it does in the image.
Here is the drawing of my digi pak plan. On the front cover I want to add images of a model. I want to try and fade two images of the same person into one. Also I feel as if the colours will need to contrast because it will link to the bright and loud music contained on the album. I will need to add a title to the front cover too, which would normally be the main song on the album, in this case "Pump Up the Jam". On the back of the album I will include text which will reveal the track list which I will need to research into. I feel that I could possibly use either a plain or busy background here, as long as the text is clearly visible. On the inside of the album I want to add images of lips. This links to my music video because there are many close ups of the lips within my music video and it will therefore relate. Also, I could possibly change the colour of the lips to make it look abstract. A background will be needed on this part of the digi pak,and I would prefer it to be a busy background too for continuity. I could even turn this background image into black and white, as it would therefore emphasis the colour of the lips. I will be keeping the inside of the digi pak simple because I want to put the audiences focus on the CD itself. On the CD I would like to include the single song which will be "Pump Up the Jam", which will need to be in bright colours too and link to the colour scheme.

Diary Entry 31
Today I have completed the influences of my music video ideas. I chose to add music videos on to my blog which i feel best influenced me from costumes, to green screen, to camera shots. Each music video brings something different.
Here are some music videos that I feel have influenced the ideas that I will and want to include in my music video. The first one is Redlight - Lost in Your Love. Throughout this music video it is clear to see that the green screen has been used due to the patterns and backgrounds included, therefore I would like to be able to include patterns which introduce bright colours in my music video, especially when they are quick cuts which change in time with the music. The actors seen during this music video are the main focuses however they are always surround by a background/pattern whilst they mime to the song. Sometimes the pattern and colour overlaps the actor and covers their face which results in them being highlighted in a different colour, which I would like to learn how to do and add it into my music video. As this song contains parts when there is no lyrics, it has shown me that it is normal for the actor to be dancing along to the music, which encourages the audience to dance too. This music video has influenced me to add as much colour into my music video as possible which makes it link to the loud and busy song.
The second music video is Rihanna - Rude Boy. This music video influenced my ideas due to the lyrics I saw appear in her music video and the fashion included. I like that the lyrics can appear on the screen as they are heard by the audience, it creates a busy and colourful background. Also, the fashion revealed throughout this music video links to the fashion in the era of the song I am using in my music video. Fashion often repeats itself and comes back around, such as: hot pants, crop tops and patterned leggings. This helped me figure out what my actor could wear to fit the genre of music.
My third music video is Will.I.Am Ft Britney Spears - Scream and Shout. Throughout this music video there are many effect which enable the image of the actors/artist to be repeated next to each other. I have found that through doing this it sustains the attention of the audience and keeps them distracted by the effects and makes them continue focusing. I would like to employ something similar to this in my music video to help it look professional and stand out. Along with this, the emphasis of different shots used is extremely high, and shows me how important it is to differentiate the shots.
My fourth music video is Jessi J - Domino. I felt that this music video was simple however effective due to the green screen effects and the outfits displayed. Although throughout the whole music video there is no narrative and the actor/artist is solely dancing and miming to the music, it is entertaining to the audience because of the attitude the actors gives off and the beat of the song. This music video helped me realise that I will need to include a numerous amount of different shots within my music video if my actor will only be dancing and miming. Also it would help to make some shots short and sweet, and cut in time with the music which will keep the attraction of the audience.
My fifth and final music video is MC Hammer - Can't Touch This. During this music video dancing is one of the main focuses. All the dancing seen in this music video contains huge energy which is a positive, especially due to the positive and upbeat song. This made me realise that I will need to pick an actor that can dance and will put their all into it, if not the dancing will look unprofessional and disappoint the audience because the song I am using, 'Pump Up the Jam' is energetic and upbeat. Along with this element the clothing worn throughout this video links to the era that my song was released and was popular too. The female clothing mainly consists of, disco pants, crop tops, tight shorts, leather jackets and boots. This will help when I choose the clothing for my actor because it will relate to my chosen song too.

Diary Entry 30
Today I have added my artist styling and costume. When adding images and labelling what will be included I have explained why certain things are a MUST, and what my reasons are for employing them.
Above are two sketches of the costumes that i will be including in my music video. The first sketch represents what my model will be wearing, and i had to take into consideration the type of clothes that were worn at the time of this song, the 90s. Due to this i opted for bright colours which contrasted against each other and so that the audience would feel that the model looks vibrant. I want my model to be wearing tight and bright coloured/patterened leggins, along with trainers or doc marten boot shoes. This would relate to the "rave scene" era. Along with this i think my model should wear a crop top to continue the trend, and reveal her waist. A chunky knecklace could be added on top too. In certain shots I could use a jacket such as a denim jacket. To finish off this outfit I will be adding jewellry such as earing and bracelets. I will want big, chunky gold earings which will stand out against the models black, back combed hair.
The second sketch demonstrates the make up that I want my model to be wearing when filming my music video. I want my model to have dark, rich black eye make up so that it can eccentuate her eyes. Also, bronzer will be applied to her cheeks and emphasise her cheek bone structure. Her eyebrows will also we dark and shaped. Lastly, she will change colour lipsticks from red and pink.

Diary Entry 29
Today I completed my inital planning ideas. I put into a slideshare all my ideas which I instantly wanted to include in my music video from the start. I look into the elements that I have to consider when creating my music video.
Diary Entry 28
I just posted a screenshot of my email to Technotronic and their management because I would like permission to use their song "Pump Up the Jam" in my music video. I felt that a email to them was important to ensure that my music video is professional and I wouldn't be infringing on their copyrights.
