Here are some music videos that I feel have influenced the ideas that I will and want to include in my music video. The first one is Redlight - Lost in Your Love. Throughout this music video it is clear to see that the green screen has been used due to the patterns and backgrounds included, therefore I would like to be able to include patterns which introduce bright colours in my music video, especially when they are quick cuts which change in time with the music. The actors seen during this music video are the main focuses however they are always surround by a background/pattern whilst they mime to the song. Sometimes the pattern and colour overlaps the actor and covers their face which results in them being highlighted in a different colour, which I would like to learn how to do and add it into my music video. As this song contains parts when there is no lyrics, it has shown me that it is normal for the actor to be dancing along to the music, which encourages the audience to dance too. This music video has influenced me to add as much colour into my music video as possible which makes it link to the loud and busy song. The second music video is Rihanna - Rude Boy. This music video influenced my ideas due to the lyrics I saw appear in her music video and the fashion included. I like that the lyrics can appear on the screen as they are heard by the audience, it creates a busy and colourful background. Also, the fashion revealed throughout this music video links to the fashion in the era of the song I am using in my music video. Fashion often repeats itself and comes back around, such as: hot pants, crop tops and patterned leggings. This helped me figure out what my actor could wear to fit the genre of music. My third music video is Will.I.Am Ft Britney Spears - Scream and Shout. Throughout this music video there are many effect which enable the image of the actors/artist to be repeated next to each other. I have found that through doing this it sustains the attention of the audience and keeps them distracted by the effects and makes them continue focusing. I would like to employ something similar to this in my music video to help it look professional and stand out. Along with this, the emphasis of different shots used is extremely high, and shows me how important it is to differentiate the shots. My fourth music video is Jessi J - Domino. I felt that this music video was simple however effective due to the green screen effects and the outfits displayed. Although throughout the whole music video there is no narrative and the actor/artist is solely dancing and miming to the music, it is entertaining to the audience because of the attitude the actors gives off and the beat of the song. This music video helped me realise that I will need to include a numerous amount of different shots within my music video if my actor will only be dancing and miming. Also it would help to make some shots short and sweet, and cut in time with the music which will keep the attraction of the audience. My fifth and final music video is MC Hammer - Can't Touch This. During this music video dancing is one of the main focuses. All the dancing seen in this music video contains huge energy which is a positive, especially due to the positive and upbeat song. This made me realise that I will need to pick an actor that can dance and will put their all into it, if not the dancing will look unprofessional and disappoint the audience because the song I am using, 'Pump Up the Jam' is energetic and upbeat. Along with this element the clothing worn throughout this video links to the era that my song was released and was popular too. The female clothing mainly consists of, disco pants, crop tops, tight shorts, leather jackets and boots. This will help when I choose the clothing for my actor because it will relate to my chosen song too.
